Evidence-Based Yoga for Desk Professionals is a structured online course designed to address the physical issues associated with prolonged desk and screen work. Grounded in scientific research and integrating traditional yoga practice with functional movement principles, the course combines short, desk-friendly practices with progressive mat-based sessions. Together, these practices are designed to improve posture, restore mobility, build the muscular support required for long hours of seated work, helping you feel more comfortable throughout your workday.

For the duration of the course, we will work on the most common challenges faced by desk-based professionals, including:

The aim of the course is to build a new habit of regular movement during your working hours and targeted, 10–15 min neck and upper back exercises which you can do at least 4 times a week during the duration of the course. The goal is to continue with this practice even after you finish with the course, 2–4 times a week.

This course has three main goals:
1. Education about the negative effects a sedentary lifestyle has on our health and wellbeing.

About the teacher


Hello! :) 
 
My name is Anita, and I am the founder of Yoga Path Within. I have been teaching yoga for six years.  

I became aware of the importance of body posture at a very early age. My mum was a physiotherapist, and I remember her walking behind me, correcting my posture and feet position. 
She would often warn me if I was slouching whilst studying. 
My uncle had more radical methods—he would slap me between the shoulder blades if my posture wasn't right! 😅  

At the age of 16, I started to experience neck pain that has stayed with me to this day. Although my pain is caused by cervical spine deformation, I have learned how to manage and live with it over the last 30 years. 
My main goal was to maintain a mobile neck and avoid "frozen neck" or shoulder syndrome—and I have succeeded in that.  

Alongside my yoga teaching, I work in the travel industry and spend the majority of my working day in front of a screen. Personal experience, combined with my professional training, led me to develop a programme where yoga practice and scientific research come together. 

With this course, my aim is to help professionals address and prevent health issues associated with a sedentary, desk-based lifestyle.
